Ventotene Island is a small portion of land, only 3 km long and 800 mt wide, part of the Pontine Islands. The latter are a set of atolls located off the west coast of Italy, which are very popular both during hot weather and also during springtime.
The name Ventotene comes from the naming of the winds that characterize the entire island. Since it is such a special destination, it is the subject of various attentions from visitors from a wide variety of places.
In particular, however, given its geographical proximity, Campania is the best starting point to reach the island in a short time. In fact, many people decide to take advantage of the ferries and hydrofoils departing from Naples to Ventotene, which run several times a day. At present, only one shipping company is in charge of providing this service, guaranteeing up to 5 runs within the week.
The number of crossings is, of course, indicative, subject to possible variations due to lower or higher demand. For this reason, it is always advisable to check all the necessary information in advance, in order to be up-to-date and avoid unpleasant surprises.
