Procida is a town that has become famous for being the set of several films such as “Husbands for Rent” and “Il Postino” with Massimo Troisi, to name a few: Capital of Culture 2022, Procida is rich in history and traditions all to be discovered, but not only that.
In fact, it is a volcanic island that is part of the Gulf of Naples, boasting an all-Mediterranean beauty thanks to its typical pastel-colored houses and small villages perched on the local heights. Although it is perhaps less renowned than Ischia or Capri, this island also experiences a high influx of tourists, which is why several ferries have been organized to get to Procida.
Reaching the island of Procida by ferry or hydrofoil is quite easy, because there are several connections that have been arranged from different locations.
Among the most popular connections to Procida we certainly find those departing from Naples, active throughout the year. There are many, in fact, who decide to visit the capital of Campania, taking advantage of its wonderful views and excellent cuisine, and take advantage of it as a starting point to the islands of the Gulf.
From there, ferries reach Procida in a relatively short time, which can vary from 30 minutes to 90, depending on the season and the shipping company one relies on. Naples and Procida are in fact about 12 nautical miles apart, corresponding roughly to 22 km.
There are more than 20 daily connections to Procida from which visitors can choose, currently operated by only one company. Usually, the first trip is guaranteed early in the morning, around 6 a.m., arriving in Procida at about 7 a.m. The last departure, on the other hand, is scheduled for late in the evening, more or less at 10 p.m., with arrival estimated at about 11 p.m.

Ferries to Procida, where one intends to depart from Naples, usually leave from the dock at Calata Porta di Massa, arriving at the Port of Marina di Procida.
The latter is one of the first attractions for tourists arriving on the island, where they can already get their first taste of the wonderful pastel-colored buildings, surrounded by craft stores and an atmosphere that is hard to resist.
