Ferries, ships and hydrofoils to and from Naples: the routes

For this reason, it is really complex to be able to roughly estimate the duration of a trip, as it depends on the route chosen. Naples, in fact, is well connected with the islands of the Gulf, but also with Sicily, Sardinia, and many other Italian ports.

Starting, for example, from Ischia, one can reach Naples in about an hour and a half. In this case, departures are really very frequent, starting from the first estimated for 6 a.m., until late evening around 11 p.m. A different matter definitely arises in the case of more demanding trips, such as the route taken to Naples from Palermo.

That route requires a significantly longer travel time, around 10 to 11 hours or so.

The times are also obviously different from those reported for Ischia, as there are less frequent departures. At the daytime level, the first vessel departs from the port of Palermo around 9:30 a.m., while others offer night crossings, with departures from around 8 p.m.

The latter can certainly be considered one of the most important at the European level, with a respectable organization. A decisive improvement came following World War II, when an expansion of the port took place. Today there are several piers in the structure (Beverello, Mergellina, Calata Porta Massa, etc.) where different types of vessels dock.
